It's funny sometimes how a small request can turn into a teachable moment. So much so that not only was I able to help someone else learn, but I had that ah-ha! moment where I realized, something so simple to me, may not seem that way to others. The request: To freeze the top row of a Google Sheet that the individual had editing rights to. I was a tad perplexed. I work with this person a few times a year in Google Sheets and thought for sure that this was something they would already know. So, I asked. Turns out that no, the person didn't know how to freeze the top row of their tab that they're working in. So I threw together a short screencasting tutorial so in the future, they would know how to freeze them, without waiting 12 hours for me to do so. (The email came in after work hours.) Since my video to that person was so raw, I decided to put one together for anyone who happens to Google how to do so could find it. If you want to learn or you just need a refresher, ...
Best laid plans of mice and men and all that jazz. I had the intention of getting that podcast off of the ground for a year. Since CUE 2019. Actually, the thought had been there for a while, just the execution was lacking. Today, today it went live. Will anyone listen? Probably, maybe, hopefully, but most likely not that many, but if someone can learn even just one thing from it, then it was a good thing that I did it, right? As I move forward I'm going to attempt to blog on the off weeks that I'm not putting together the next podcast. I hope you'll give the podcast a listen, and there are video tutorials in the show notes if needed. Beth
